Shinju was born from the slopes of the great Mt. Fuji, Japan’s highest and most Sacred mountain. Our “white pearl” blend is a proprietary blend of this unique water source and 4 distinct whisky expressions that have been meticulously hand selected and blended by our Master Distiller, each of which has been aged 2-4 years in American White Oak barrels.
Our distillery is situated in the city of Nirasaki (韮崎市 ), on the southeastern flank of Mount Fuji in Yamanashi Prefecture. Its water source is Mount Fuji. Nirasaki was selected as the site for the distillery because it was felt to have the climate most similar to Scotland; the city is much cooler and less humid than other areas of Japan.
Shinju was produced in an environment surrounded by rich nature, history, and culture. This area is close to Minami (South)-Alps, which is one of the best water sources in all of Japan.
